These edible wildflowers will grow well and self seed in any well draining soil. The don't need extra manure or water unless they are really struggling. Our farm started with 1 plant in our orchard, now it comes back every year in droves of tasty light blue flowers and sturdy, asparagus flavored stems. It has medicinal uses as well; oozing a slick mucilage that can be used on insect bites and small cuts, and offering a tea which makes a digestive aid.
