Description
This Florida native is an easy way to add beauty and food to your landscape. Can be trimmed as an attractive, evergreen hedge, a bush or tree. Is not phased by freezes in zone 9 or 8B. Berries are edible, and small, delicate white flowers are a favorite of pollinators. This is one of the few evergreen natives that have readily adapted to our very dry, very sandy sandhill in Central Florida with virtually no care or attention once established, even in extreme drought, heat, cold, etc. This is one of our top choices for easy-care landscape plants that have bonus edible berries.
